AJPH Presentation About Youth Sexual Behavior and Smart Phones Gets 50+ Media Hits

Our survey results on youth sexual behavior and smart phones in the Los Angeles Unified School District were presented in three presentations at the American Public Health Association’s 140th Annual Meeting in San Francisco. Fifty-six news outlets across the country and internationally covered the findings that use of smart phones by adolescents is associated with an increased likelihood of being solicited for sex on the internet, and having sex with an internet-met partner. This study helped highlight that internet and smart phone apps represent prime venues for adolescent-targeted sexual health programs.
