3rd Project U Youth Leadership Summit at UCLA a Big Success

On November 17th, Project U held its 3rd Student Leadership Summit at UCLA. These summits have been a key component of the program from the beginning, and are a perfect way to gather student input to ensure that Project U continues to be student driven at every level. In total, over 700 students have attended the three youth summits held thus far.

At our latest summit, over 60 students gave up their Saturday to receive training to become a Project U Ambassador. Ambassadors perform the vital role of promoting Project U at their schools, and getting students to sign up. Students went through step-by-step training on how to plan a Project U campaign at their school. Training included helping students decide what health issues to focus on, how to do research, setting attainable goals, and launching a campaign. We also took applications for bloggers and for the community advisory group.

Of course, this youth summit wasn’t all work. Students also were treated to the newest performance by UCLA’s Sex Quad. Check out the video below-those guys are amazing!

Thank you to Beyond the Bell and the UCLA Sex Squad for their support and partnership, and to UCLA's Art and Global Health Center for hosting the event again this time.
